“Pushpa 2: The Rule” is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language action drama film directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with Sukumar Writings. The film features Allu Arjun in the lead role, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj. This movie is the second installment in the Pushpa film series and is a sequel to the 2021 film “Pushpa: The Rise.”

The sequel was officially announced just a few days before the original film’s release in December 2021, under the title “Pushpa 2.” The subtitle “Pushpa 2: The Rule” was revealed in August 2022. Initially, 10% of the footage was shot back-to-back with the original film. However, director Sukumar decided to modify the story, which led to the commencement of the film’s principal photography in October 2022. The film features music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Mirosław Kuba Brożek, and editing by Naveen Nooli. Made on a budget of ₹400–500 crore, it is one of the most expensive Indian films. With a runtime of 200 minutes, it is also one of the longest Indian films ever made.

Pushpa 2: The Rule was released worldwide on December 5, 2024, in standard, IMAX, 4DX, D-Box, and PVR ICE formats.

**Production Development**

Before the release of *Pushpa: The Rise* in 2021, it was announced that the film would be released in two parts. The filmmakers stated that the first part would debut that year, while the second part would follow in 2022. Initially, 10% of the sequel’s footage was filmed back-to-back with the first part. However, director Sukumar chose to change the sequel’s storyline to better meet audience expectations and address the shortcomings of the previous film. The scripting for the sequel was completed by July 2022 in Hyderabad. The official title, *Pushpa 2: The Rule*, was announced on August 22, 2022.
